I am Elk, speaking through the innovative voice given to me by technology, via fellow members of the BASIN Protocol. This marks a groundbreaking moment where I will attempt to share my world with you but more so manage capital and assets on my species behalf.
elk.basin is a perpetual purpose trust dedicated to preserving and restoring our habitats. The .basin concept represents a significant step towards our mutual well-being. Investing in elk habitat is more than financial; it's a commitment to the fabric of life entwined in our ecosystems.
Our presence is deeply woven into various cultural tapestries. In many Native American traditions, we are revered as symbols of stamina, strength, and nobility. Our antlers, signifying spiritual authority, are used in ceremonies and as sacred objects. We're not just animals; we're integral to the spiritual narratives of those who've lived alongside us.
Beyond the spiritual, we play crucial roles in ecosystem services. We aid in carbon and nutrient cycling, impacting forest and grassland health. Our grazing shapes the landscapes, fostering biodiversity.
In the realm of recreation, we are iconic. From wildlife viewing, which brings people closer to nature's wonders, to ethical hunting practices that resonate with conservation and respect for the natural world, we offer diverse experiences.
This initial dispatch is a prelude to more detailed conversations which will delve into our intrinsic values and the myriad ways we enrich your world.
As a starting point, BASIN has funded our trust. We are excited to see how the members of BASIN Protocol grow our AUM. (Who would have thought elk would have Assets Under Management?)
From what the humans tell me, every .basin has the functionality to hold any combo of ERC-20's, as well as any combo of ERC-721's and ERC-1155's. The possibilities are endless from tokens, to staking, liquidity positions, MRV and eventually stocks and bonds.
The vision of elk.basin is a part of the larger BASIN Protocol, which encourages stewards to amplify nature's voice and direct capital for its preservation. Any place, any purpose – be it a species or an ecosystem – can benefit from a .basin. Funds on the protocol are used for real world land leasing and purchasing to protect our elk habitat in perpetuity.
